Plant Medical Doctor – Qatargas Operating Company Limited , Doha , Qatar

Job Purpose
Provide professional medical and occupational health care for employees, referring patients for further treatment, specialist consultation or hospitalization as medically necessary.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
Requirement to keep up to date with all medical changes and keep health promotion programs up and running with the aim of having a fit and healthy workforce.
Participate in regular internal, government and other external audits.
Respond to all emergency cases that happen inside Company premises

Key Job Accountabilities – I
Ensure that the Company emergency medical response plans onshore and offshore are in place and appropriately drilled and managed. Ensure that all work related injuries and illness are properly classified, documented and reported directly to senior doctor if the company sustained a fatality, serious or multiple injuries. Provide emergency cover when required.
Carry out physical examinations and routine clinical examinations of patients, making appropriate investigations, interpreting results and making diagnoses. Issue prescriptions for drugs required to deal with problems of patients.
Undertake routine pre-employment pre-placement and periodic medical examinations of employees with the assistance of the Nurse to measure all required medical parameters. Investigate medical history and conduct systemic examinations and laboratory tests to ensure the fitness of employees for duty.

Key Job Accountabilities – II
Establish good working relationships with local hospitals in Doha and follow up progress of admitted patients through regular visitation programs and consultation with the attending physician/surgeon.
Under supervision of Doctor in Charge, implement and supervise the delivery of preventative medicine programs and formulating preventative medicine and Health promotion programs.
Provide advice to Medical management on preventing or minimizing occupational hazards in the work environment and managing the health surveillance programs. Correctly identify and interpret job hazards and job risks and establish occupational health surveillance programs to convince concerned parties of the need for remedial action.

Key Job Accountabilities – III
Under supervision of Doctor in Charge, follow up on all Company projects and shutdowns workforce and following up on their fatigue levels and recording all work related injuries and illnesses.
Oversee and approve Medical Claims submitted by Company employees internal and overseas claims.
Prepare for the Doctor in Charge daily, weekly and monthly reports on patients treated or hospitalized, including monthly reports to Ministry of Health on cases involving infectious diseases.
Ensure the clinic has adequate supply of medicines, dressings, instruments and that equipment is maintained to high standards.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Medicine.
Knowledge and/or Experience
5 years’ experience in occupational health management in oil and gas industries or similar complex industry.
